STL/ASTL Bonus Program

Saw a few things on here about STL/ASTL bonus program being eliminated? Any truth to that? I know back in 07 recession hourly increase for store leadership where suspended. Bonuses where unaffected at that time. Bonus program would be a huge blow to that group.

I rather get a good raise than a bonus. 1-3% does not cut it for a lot of us. Bonuses are not guaranteed. Some astls wish they could clock in instead of working 45+ hours. Just because I don’t have a family doesn’t mean Im going to commit so many hours. I have a life too. So many astls are thinking of stepping down to become atls or tls. A tm, you read that right, a tm got a bigger raise than a lot of astls.

As a TM our gainsharing and stock options are gone. There are no more incentives for this company. Nothing surprises me. PTO hours are probably next.

As things are it’s not worth it being a tl or atl we are way overworked and have to shifty the store for free on top of that we have to run their reports with action plan so they look good for calls with their ec’s have you noticed team leadership is quitting thru the company and the store leadership team keeps getting bonuses? They had it coming for promoting unqualified people. The company needs to decide either to invest in store leadership with no return or invest in teams that generate the $$$$ to keep the stores functioning.Holidays are close and team members are burnt out due to being severely understaffed so you know what to look for this holiday season.

Sometimes labor is not part of the bonus structure. Not sure which region you are on. But labor is not part of bonus structure on my region at this time. So most likely he stopped it because 1) some people abused it or 2) he realized that a lot of A/TLs are making more than him and he just jealous and doesn’t like it. My guts tells me its option number 2. Some people are just too jealous to let others get bigger piece of the cake. Its not my money as long as TMs are not abusing it and the job gets done if they are shorthanded, I’m ok with the OT. An atl made more than 20 hrs of OT in 2 weeks. Were they shorthanded? Oh you bet. Were tms making ot in that same department, oh you bet. We cant hire people because no one applies.

Our STL cut out the Global/Regional approved overtime. We all assumed it was to make bonus. Why else would you stop authorized overtime?

ive seen some stupid ASTL's and STL's but if you guys have leadership going around talking about their bonuses then thats a whole new level of stupid lol

None of my STL's have ever talked about their bonuses unless they were asked but you can usually tell what metrics they want to meet in order to get their bonuses. That literally is their job so it's not like they aren't working.

My most recent STL actually works on the floor with teams daily and he hustles and sets a good example. He is on the floor most days most of the time except when he has zoom meetings. Our newest ASTL is the same.

This is a recent phenomena though, every STL I've had since 2007 until just now has hid in the office all day every day and was clueless as to what was going on on the floor and within teams.

If they got rid of the bonus program probably 50% of STL's would leave. That may be the goal. Sounds like a ton of store leadership is terrible.

I worked for an STL that talked about his bonus constantly. How we needed to work harder so he would get his bonus. He did nothing to earn his big bonus or his big salary. It was offensive. Bonuses should disappear and STLs should have to WORK for their salaries. Everyone below them works hard, so should they.

My stl all he talk is about his bonus. You gotta do this to get my bonus. You messed up now there goes my bonus. Im getting a nice bonus and taking off for two weeks. Bonus bonus bonus. Man I wonder what he is going to do if they take the bonus away or even change it. I can’t wait till next year to see how he handles it that is if i don’t quit before then. We are way understaffed.

Changes are coming. Gainsharing is gone for TMs. Why wouldn’t they change the bonus structure for store leadership? They are not going to be happy when they do. Not if but when. With JM gone everything is back on the table.

i dont trust half the stuff i read about WF anymore. i think if the bonus thing is true we would hear more of an uproar about it? but idk, maybe most of the upper leadership left already lol. sure feels like it
