Does anybody know? I'm not sure if my severance disqualifies me from applying for a different position.

I gave Raytheon the finger, and I liked it. Of course it took me to the point of burn out to do it.
Going back to Raytheon after working there is like going back to your girlfriend. It's a 50/50 result that can go either way. On the one hand..."Wow, so glad to go back to her, these are the reasons we hooked up in the first place". Or on the other hand..."What have I done, I am realizing why we broke up the first time".
@OP+1dpFxmYi, it all depends on where you are in the company and how you separated. If you retired as an engineer there is usually a waiting period (1 year if I recall). You can forgoe that by coming in as part of a contract agency. But, the company won't be treating you like a full time employee. Coming back as a full time employee I believe now takes a signoff from a Vice President with a solid justification for your return ( no one else does/designs what you do), and its critical to the company bottom line.
As a technician I believe its much easier especially if you retired as a paying member of a union.
If you were fired and its under X years forget about it. I forget what the X in years is. For some reason I'm thinking 7, but that might not be correct.
If you left on your own, your chances are better, but it would be best if you still had active contacts in the business unit you originally worked.
Good Luck.

What are you doing?!! Don't give the OP any false hopes; he/she needs to move on. He/She/Xe/Be/De/Ke/It/etc will enter infinite loop...kind of like when you break up with someone, but one cannot move and hence enters an infinite loop.
I was laid off from Raytheon in 2010 and hired back 4 years later, am still there.
If you gave RTX the finger and left on your own, they will take you back. If you gave RTX the finger and took that nice huge retirement pension/package/etc, they will take you back as a contractor. BUT...If RTX gave you the finger...well...that's a different story. LOL
I know of NO ONE who was laid off was ever re-hired. Move on. There is a beautiful life AFTER Raytheon!
Cheers!
I forgot to say, I was laid off more than two years ago, not recently.
