Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Do the bare minimum

I'm not even joking, just do your bare minimum. Anything beyond will only put you in the "let's make sure to keep him/her in that position because they're making me look good" box. Here it's all about working smart and not about working hard. The sooner you accept this the better off you'll be in the future.

Also, Citrix products really kinda suck. They are not the premium products that the marketing, product, management, executive team engrains in your brain. The products are constantly breaking. The tech support team is the worst and customer service is lazy so the customers are pi---d and going elsewhere. THAT is why Citrix is in the position they are in, not sales reps doing the bare minimum.

Also, a lot of those reps on your team who are kissing a-s are 100% talking sh-t about you behind your back to management.

I knew a few folks at Citrix with this mentality and you know what happened to them?!?! They got promoted. That's right, they were rewarded somehow for doing close to nothing, barely getting to their quote (and sometimes not hitting but just getting close), and avoiding having a target on their back by "spreading negativity".

It is not worth working hard at Citrix, ESPECIALLY if you are a tenured rep because you have a decent sized severance coming your way when they lay you off soon.

Almost wish I had stayed a few more months and weathered the storm to get my fat check, but the thought of listening the the sh---y management team for another minute makes me queasy.

Tip for surviving with bare minimum efforts @ Citrix:

“Become a manager”

Agree with the last poster. If your strategy is to do the bare minimum, then please leave for one of our competitors : o ) There remain thousands of people in the company that care about the company, the products and, most of all, the customers. It is the time to pull together, quickly correct the issues, and get things back on track.

generally, I disagree. doing the bare minimum is what got us to this state. not only on the ELT level (where incompetence is completely unfathomable) but all the way down to the on-the-ground employees. but in the current setup, I agree 100%. why should you care and do more than the bare minimum if there's a good chance you'll get fired? spend the effort and time on interviews and get a better job elsewhere. everyone, who's at least moderately good and not a complete as----e, can land a new job in a couple of weeks at maximum.

Completely disagree with this,
In my time with Citrix, I have worked hard smashing all my KPIs
my hard work has been recognized and I have been compensated accordingly being promoted 2 times in a year

The talking behind your back has been going on for a long time at Citrix! Managers don’t want you to succeed. They want you to fail. The immature managers at Citrix is awful. Everyone only cares about themselves.

Spot on. I see this in my group. Those who hardly have any concrete outcomes are generally promoted.
Try finding the accomplishments of most recent promotions and you will return empty handed. Do the minimal, focus largely on boot licking people up in your chain and bad mouthing your colleagues which obviously needs to be done behind the back. Icing on the cake will be bs’ing around big ideas that no one including you will have any clue. DH before he left, has created a chain of incompetent leadership all the way that falls prey to these baits.

Trust me, these will be enough to keep you on your accelerated growth path at Citrix.
