The recent policy changes were made to protect the astl’s and stl’s only making it more intimidating to report problems at store level and to give less credibility to team members to help keep the stl’s / astl’s in their positions and eventually they will harass the team members into quitting or they will make up fake performance problems to get rid of team members . If store leadership covering from other stores or they are new leadership in the store they communicate to them which team members reported them then the focus is on those team members and pbs will say well it’s performance or another policy it falls under then claim well they knew nothing prior then pbs guides them on how to get rid of them. I would advise not to look for a career at whole foods since they don’t handle themselves ethically , professionally or in some cases even legally. Whole foods invests too much protecting astl’s and stl’s ask around what happened to the team members that reported any problems where are they now?

The current one doesn't work for the leadership favorites. Amazon needs to get rid of both.

What I've heard is Whole Foods is working to get the different policies across all regions to be the same everywhere. Midwest has a point system and some other regions do not. This is the reason that during the COVID points freeze that everyone's points didn't roll off for an extra 112 days. Rocky Mountain had a different attendance policy and it wasn't fair to other regions.

I don't know what the poster's current attendance policy is. They may be from a region that won't change or they may be from a region that will. Lots of policies are in the process of changing so that a TM transferring from Florida to Oregon will have the same rules. Seems like a good business decision. Probably won't be too drastic.

Midwest policy is 6 points and you are separated. 1 point for absence or showing up an hour or more late. Half point for showing up at least 8 minutes late. Points roll off in 6 months. I don't know what other regions policies are. That would be interesting to know.

to the last reply: As leadership , are you guys aware of the problem? is it as big as TM's (at least in my store) make it? Whats the plan going forward besides just getting us to quit? and why arent you guys hiring? Thanks for the reply =)

As leadership I get accused of favoritism all the time. I treat every TM the same. Some Tm's just need more corrective action or coaching than others. I have done huge favors for some of my worst TM's the same as I would do for the best. I'm not saying there aren't leaders who play favorites, I see it a bunch daily, but I notice that most accusations of favoritism come from TM's who cause a lot of problems. I would keep in mind that you probably aren't aware of all the conversations your leadership is having with other TM's. You may have been written up for something but you may not be aware of the other TM's who got the same counseling statement. Some TM's don't like to discuss that and as leaders we can't talk about it. If you have solid concrete evidence of favoritism I would talk to your TMSS especially if it's a race, religion , gender or se-ual orientation issue.

Time and attendance is one of the few things our store actually follows. That is because it is recorded and Regional stays on top of it. I am not saying Leadership is not above making corrections but they would be more afraid too many corrections would get flagged. So even with favoritism that is one area they don't mess around with too much.

Every region is different currently. For instance, in the midwest we use a point system.

There has been talk in the past few years of streamlining it so every store has the same policy.

I have a feeling that will be one of many changes to happen after the holiday.

i think they are just trying it on east coast workers (amazon). It honestly sounds like a way to get them to burn through their PTO so if they quit , they wont have any extra money coming their way. But IDK , this place is a circus. It will probably come to WF soon but who knows anymore

The current time and attendance is a joke in my store. Especially when it comes to leadership favorites.
