Just left a belk store that all employees are getting 15 an hour. Meanwhile, another smaller store 15 miles away is still on the old pay scale.

Yes, some people were give as little as .17 cents to bring them up to 15.00, and new hires are being offered 15.00. Why aren't more people outraged??? Associates who have worked for Belk for 10 years or more were only bumped up to 15.00, thus making the same amount as those just starting. That is totally unfair, unequal, and outrageous. So someone who has worked through thick and thin, is now paid at the same level as someone just starting. Why haven't they offered a substantial bump up in pay to those with seniority, knowledge, expertise and responsibility, who have been an asset to the company for so many years, (while training new associates as well). I have spoken to my manager about this inequity, to no avail. I was told that we must wait until review time in March 2022. OK, so now we will work through Charity Day, Thanksgiving, and oh boy, Christmas too, wait until March, to probably find out we might get a raise, of what, .30 cents, (that's only if Belk is still in business come March). No, these associates with seniority should immediately be given a substantial increase above 15.00, don't ya think. It is unfair that these associates have been overlooked and disregarded.

At our store, all the associates making less were bumped up to $15 per hour. New hires are starting at $15 too.

I started Belk in 2015 at $9.80 per hour. Two years later I got a 30 cent raise and have not received a raise since

Give a man a pizza and a clearance shirt he eats for a day. Teach him how to fold a shirt and make pizza he’ll work for minimum wage!

You must keep in mind, this is the same company that won't allow lights in vending machines (if they have any left!) b/c the lights cost too much to run!
