I know some can’t afford to take this kind of action but still a good read and help get the word out

I hope it all goes well. Hope it gets some good, positive media coverage and institutes at least a little change, as well as huge awareness for how businesses are exploiting workers.

Yes, you can protest, don't need a union for protesting. We should have a union to protect our rights
We haven't had a cost of living raise since the 80's.
We deserve more, the store managers( get 20,000 bonus) corprare collects money, while we do the work, and we barely make ends meet.
Remember, they can't run their stores without workers.
Yeah, they could hire new people, which would slow down their production, and they don't want that.

Thank you for telling me about the strike. I wish I was brave enough to do it. It is so great that people are standing up. The old excuse that employers can't afford to pay more has been lame for a long time. It's just pure greed. Working at my store has become horrible. It has become so bad that you have to fight for your basic rights to have a break because what little management we have is busy kissing bu-t so they will be liked. Thank god I have an exit strategy. Good luck to everyone participating in the strike.

But, you can't really strike without a Union. You can protest, that's more what it will be like. Follow the rules of your local municipality, and you'll get the necessary attention without legal troubles. Be prepared for job losses, though.
