During the six years here, I often had a lot to do, and sometimes I had almost nothing to do. Now, however, I have more work to do than ever and I prefer it than not having a job, but what especially frustrates me is when my superiors try to convince us that it's not a big workload. Is it normal, that people have started to convince us that a lot of work is actually not a lot of work?

You’re not alone. I find myself working 50+ hours a week over the last 10 months and I’m tired of it.
Days are stacked with meetings, more deliverables, more cleaning up sloppy work from others…
Yes, and any days off you take just means you have to work more before & after, all while stressing about it while you're off. So don't take any vacation or get sick!
