Thread regarding Belk layoffs

What is Belks policy on manager, and store manager qualifactions, and requirements?

I do not understand how some people became managers, whats the requirements?
Or is it about who you know, that you get the position?
From my retail experience, it seems the best managers previously worked as associates.

If you are a leader, you don’t push wet spaghetti, you pull it.
Good Store Managers don’t push Belk Associates. They pull and motivate their people. You do not learn that from finished MBA or business college!

Some might have majored in business management, but its not the same as on hand experience.
They come out of their office occasionally, then tell others what to do, because they dont have a clue, then blame others for their incompetence.

Belk and Sycamore Partners are like two parts of the brain. The
'left' and 'right'. In the left side, there's nothing right. In the right side, there's nothing left. What do you think?

West Town, TN Belk had a manager who didn't graduate high school and a store manager that was caught watching adult movies in his office. So what does that tell ya?

One day a business college professor, after getting irritated in his college class, stands up in front of the class and asks if anyone in the class is an id--t and, if there is one, then they should stand up.
After a minute, a young man stands up. The professor then asks that guy if he actually thinks he is an id--t. The boy replied, “No, I just didn’t want to see you standing there all by yourself.”
Please explain to me then these following companies like Nine West, Jones Newyork, Aeropostale, Talbots, Staples, and except Belk was in good financial status in 2015) all are in financial trouble and in Chapter 11 situations now and all bought and sold out by Sycamore Partners Investment and run by many MBA CEOs and Managers Experts in Retail and Business Management majors????

I was wondering too! Some are coming from absolutely irrelevant business, totally clueless about retail practices, not having any understanding of merchandising, department structure and floor moves, no organizational skills. Sometimes it’s even better if a manager like that’s lazy so he doesn’t get on a way of business by making absurd decisions and creating additional problems. Having lesser managers and more fully functioning associates with clear expectations and accountability would benefit this business so much better!

A quick search on Belk Employment opportunities, even career opportunity sites will answer your question. Absolutely, 4 year college degree, most likely focus on business management?
