I am thankful that I got a job at the moment when I needed it the most, without having almost any experience beforehand. It is only today, when I look back on starting here, that it is not clear to me how I managed to learn everything I needed in such a short time because I literally had to learn everything on my own. I remembered this today when a new person arrived who was even more clueless than I was when I first arrived. The rule here seems to be sink or swim? I wonder if other retail companies mostly leave new employees to fend for themselves?
