Is overtime pay worth it?

In my ten years in auto claims this is definitely the lowest in terms of morale. They’re giving us overtime pay, but honestly the quadruple workload we’ve been given is just too much. 12 hour days are the norm in my unit. Angry customers, agents and shops are an every day norm...

Original post @1peu+1d771bdQ. Looks like I'm not the only one getting a lot more workload than overtime pay?

If you've been working extra hours without the pay, I don't see why you wouldn't do it and get paid.

I wouldn't work OT if you're being given additional work on top of your current load, though.

We’re getting an extra 2-3 inspects a day on top of the normal 5 inspects and told to work overtime to get it done . They just can’t hire enough adjusters back .

Overtime pay is for doing more work, not catching up

In my opinion it is not worth it. You always end up with garbage pending to be carried over and stressed about. OT wouldn’t be necessary if things were done half way right the first time. Half of the claims i work are punted from the previous adjuster. Thankfully I have one foot out the door.

That's horrible. I hope things get better, but the end plan is outsourcing. They are willing to pay the price now in anticipation of future benefits.
