Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Don't be too quick to leave

I know many are considering leaving right now for several obvious reasons, but I would be very careful about making that decision. Yes, the job market is hot, but have you tried applying? While there are plenty of openings, when you reach the point of discussing the pay being offered, you suddenly realize why they're having trouble filling those positions. I know it might seem so, but the grass might not be as green out there as you might hope.

Agreed, they aren’t a Citi Employee. Just someone trying to instigate things for their own amusement. More often than not, you’ll find this type of person play devils advocate. They’ll make a negative Citi comment then follow up to the same post with a positive one, just trying to stir things up. You’ll not find any value in their comments. Maybe one day they will go to Walmart and find a toy to play with. If they are a Citi employee than one can only hope that this child is not a manager and if so, then most likely the performance of their group will affect their childish behavior.

Are you lower than an analyst?? If so stop complaining as those are very entry level jobs like teller or on phones just do that till you can land something else

They are probably not even a Citi employee. Just a person still living at home with their parents chiming in every so often with lame phrases. It never occurred to them that Citi have various roles other than analysts.

I can’t see hanging around on the hopes of a promise of a maybe bonus or raise. Get your money upfront. Especially if you’ve been around for years and have gotten minimal amounts. If you can get your $ up front elsewhere and it seems to be a good gig…..go for it.

Just think it thru before leaving as it can affect your career. You may be getting a few dimes today and miss dollars down the road at Citi
I hope you know what you are doing

Maybe maybe not. As mentioned in several other posts and also going by what I’ve seen from 4 colleagues leaving, the pay being offered is quite a bit. “You don’t like then leave” ,”Ok, challenge accepted, bye. I’m making 20K more per year now” and then they are gone. :(
