Explain why a lower volume store 15 minutes away starts 2$ an hour more for a cashier. They wonder why employees are bitter
There are employees who have been at our store for 10 years who are at less than this other store

Where are the stores located? Look up minimum wage for the city/county/state.
Hey, it’s HR checking in.
Who fu----g cares.
It’s the whole state/city game. I’ll give you an example:
Massachusetts: $14 minimum wage as of Jan 1,2022.
New Hampshire: NO wage (Federal Law) so they could pay as little as $7.25 now luckily they don’t…but guess how much they start people at?
Also border cities pay more vs say Concord or Keene, NH. Sorry to point you out but …job competition folks. Nashua/Salem/Portsmouth are OBVIOUSLY going to have to pay a little bit more to scurry the people to leave to Methuen, MA or Kittery, Maine!
Do you know this for sure? Or us it just something someone "heard" ? As another poster mentioned could it be in another county? Another state? What state are the stores in? And if true..why wouldnt everyone from your store go work there?
It could be they have more staffing problems, and for whatever reason, that store is one the company wants to keep. There are too many variables to give a simple answer.
In my area…California…the difference in wage has a lot to do with what county you are in. Some have raised their minimum wage and it bumps up the starting pay in some stores. At least I think that’s a difference. I could be wrong.
