IF you want deposits, then why are you acquiring a herd of financial advisors? A tiny portion of their book is in deposits.
Gorman is a nut. Pushing all this C19 nonsense. MS had to be in trouble financially, circa Sept 2019. It's the only explanation that makes sense.
The firm was unable to fund itself in the repo markets. Ergo, C19 bailouts to the rescue.

Wealth mangt is a dying business and it has been since the advent of the internet. That's precisely why he had to acquire Smith Barney and later ETFC. The FA channel is a dinosaur.
How many people under age 45 have a financial advisor, no matter their wealth? Not too many. But they do have an online brokerage account. Nevertheless, he brags about being the biggest player in the has-been industry of financial advisor middlemen.
Why is no one concerned with claiming dominance in ECM or M&A? The next CEO will have to come from ISG. And I hope it's as male and WASP-y as imaginable.

Gorman is a wealth management guy and so he has made great moves in this area. I like the guy
so choose a CEO based upon a social construct? Gender isn't biological anymore right? I get confused with the "Science" of 2021, as it were.
I long for the meritocracy I joined in 1999. This place is a trainwreck. It feels like "playing house" versus running a business.
