Cisco Software Selling = A House of Cards

I know Cisco does not report customer adoption percentages or software renewal rates to the street, but if they did.....our stock would plummet. Vast majority of sellers lead with the motion of "throw in the software for free, we'll work on adoption later".....annnnnd then it never happens.

Only a matter of time before that house of cards starts crashing down and Cisco has to figure out how to drive REAL software bookings numbers.

Easy fix for Cisco. Just get one of those fluffy, bloated Business Architects and they will get the gravy train runnin’. NOT! What a waste of investors’ money to hire these drones! And we have to pay with mandatory PTOs because the ELT wants to keep these puppets on the payroll for “customer confidence”! Despicable .

Selling compulsory 3-year licenses on proprietary hardware can hardly be called out as a successful software business. The acid test will be the renewals. And the true acid test is selling this software to run on white box hardware. SAP, Microsoft, VMWare and all the rest do not tell you what server hardware you must run. That's because they are software companies.

They’ll know soon, as most of the initial license deals are coming up for renewal.

I’ve never witnessed a security, EN or data center enterprise agreement renewal. I have witnessed people try to repurpose the DNA center appliance as general compute. 😉
