Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

The layoff package has some not-as-bad parts

This site seems like just griping, but I just got the boot after 20+ years, so I've seen the severance package for US (I am going to retire, so not so bad for me). Although access to Citrix networks is cut off on Nov 15, the "Final Date of Employment" is December 1, so we get an extra 2 weeks pay in addition to severance package which, at least in US, is X weeks for pay level + 2 weeks per year up to 15 years. After 15 years, no bump in package or in PTO days.

Also, by setting the Final Date of Employment to December 1 instead of Nov 30, we get the whole month of December normal benefits.

At least some of us with RSUs that vest in the next 12 months will get those too, although the generic package info does not say that.

I chose to stay through thick and thin and enjoyed working with a lot of great people.

What does the "X weeks for pay level" in "X weeks for pay level + 2 weeks per year up to 15 years" mean?

If you're a level 4 you get 4 weeks + the rest? Same for an E4 as for an X4 for example?

I'm confused.

"Years of service maxed at 10 for this severance"

Incorrect, it was maxed at 15 years of service.

It appears that M5 and above got RSUs - can anyone confirm?

The generic packet info explicitly says that all RSU that are not vested will end / cease to exist after last day of employment.

For those of us sucked into Citrix this year, the severance sucks. I was with my last employer over 15 years and left to come to Citrix only to get laid off in six months with a poor severance package and nothing to show for it. They lied to me from the beginning and now their terrible management has cost me severely. The worst mistake I ever made was to come to work for Citrix.

I think most of us lost our unvested RSUs? Maybe because of your tenure you were able to keep yours? Either way, happy for you!

The whole reason behind TLO is - right or wrong- for people to gripe and complain. Not sure why people are expecting anything more than that or feel entitled to pass judgement. If you feel like you want to praise citrix or anyone else for that matter do it on LinkedIn and not as an anonymous contributor here.

Good luck to all who will need to find a new job. A lot of great people got cut to "save money".
A quote from a friend of mine:
"The thing some companies don't realize is that although to teach an old dog new tricks may be hard, old dogs already know most of the tricks!" LOL.

I agree! I have no complaints, the package could have been worse. I feel relieved to be gone. I'm great at my job, I will find another one.

Thanks for the objective fact-based post. The constant griping here may be therapeutic for some, but it does get to be tiring for many more.
