Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Influence of constant layoffs on productivity

The last layoffs were for some reason more stressful to me than ever. They laid off a colleague I would never have thought could be a layoff target. As a result, I haven’t been able to focus on work since. At Citrix it all comes down to waiting for cuts and it has become very exhausting and I think everyone deserves a more stable work environment. The company doesn’t even seem to be aware of how all of this is affecting productivity decline?

Can anyone now see Shitrix as a long term career? I have gone through 4-5 layoffs so far and each time I see long term dedicated employees get shown the door and I think the company (or Elliot Management) see long tenure as a liability (10+ years). Elliot Management doesnt give two sh--s about your job or your family- they have to put on a good face in the GEM and pretend to care about employees just to raise up the stock price and sell the company in pieces. I wish Citrix could get enough investors to go private and tell Elliot Management where to stick it.

Attrition in digital sales has to be about 70-80% (leaning toward the higher number). There are only a hand full of people here that I started with a year ago.

There are more planning on leaving, some seem to be sticking around to see if the quotas are smaller next year to "say sorry we F*cked you in 2021" if they aren't the remaining will be leaving.

I was doing a great job and they cut me. It definitely impacts your work conscious.

The resignations of the ones that were holding on for the potential severance package came in today. Keep the door open… the rest of us are on the way out.

The attrition was touching 18-20% in the last 6 months. Ever wondered had bad the layoffs could have been if that was not the case?

Apparently the business is doing really bad.

Generic layoff is just a bandaid over a g-n shot. It’s not going to fix anything. A holistic view on the strategy and alignment is needed but that path requires a significant turn around of strategy.

Workspace and Wrike are two biggest distractions and missteps that has low ROI or aligbment. Workspace investment exceeds 200M+ in the last 3 years, and true return (not accounting the forced attachment done for legacy products sales) is in low double digits. The growth also isn’t as expected.

Wrike acquisition cost will even out after 10 years. That too considering increased growth going forward which looks unlikely.

For Citrix, I don’t think it’s not possible to turn back from any of these two products. And so more investment will be fed to try to grow these two areas. Unless a big miracle happens, the path forward is not looking bright.

Bob’s point about focusing on growth areas and limiting distractions is yet to be seen.

Yup and there will likely be a large number of others heading for the exits after this week…
