How many people do you know who were PIPed because they deserved it? I know quite a few who were put on a PIP and out of all of them, I'd say one or two cases were justified. All the others were good people who've been doing their jobs the same way for years, sometimes even decades, just to suddenly have it deemed unsatisfactory. Of course, those same people had some of the highest pays. Well earned, but still high for the number crunchers. Funny how that worked out, right?

I was PIPd this year without any notice or real significant feedback on my performance. Remember that this is a popularity contest and targets higher paid people, minorities and senior people. Also people that speak out and not supervisors favorites.
Looking forward on getting let go in a few weeks. This way I’ll take my money and find a better job. I already have a few offers lined up.
