Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Trouble hiring

Huh...after laying people off during a pandemic last year in order to keep profit margins high, they're having trouble finding enough people to staff 3 full shifts now in places.

Actions, meet Consequences.

When you work people to death for over a year working 50 and 60 hours weekly and some cases 70 hours word gets out and people will not apply for them. The new generation is looking to work smarter not harder with flexible work schedules. Emerson will never be able to compete with other Factorys it people are willing to give up a few dollars an hour to get a job they can enjoy more time with family with. If Emerson doesn't complete with the Amazon's, Wal-Marts, Lowes and some Factorys that are going to more flexible schedules such as working 36 hours paying for 40 hours I'm afraid they will be moving the all the factories to Mexico or China. Young people don't have to work psychically to make money the way the generation before them did, they have so many options. It's a new world and Emerson is not keeping up with it. New flexible schedules and better benefits is what these youths are seeking and demanding. They could have all the workers they want if they would just change with the times.

Most people don't know what emerson does so that makes it hard to recruit. Antiquated benefits don't help either. Hourly workers jump ship for a quarter raise and with the manual labor involved in Emerson's plants its no wonder they can't find people to work.

They only recruit from second or third tier schools.
Maybe they need more Pune, Costa Rica, Cluj or Manila deputies!!!
