Now that the merger date has been pushed to February, what does that mean for us? It doesn't fill me with confidence that layoffs were announced practically at the same time. I'm worried we might see another round (and an even bigger one at that) when the merger is finalized.

This company has another layoff with severance package for Feb 4th, all of a sudden they extend the date to June 3rd, how can I make a decision to stay if they are going to lay me off anyway. Very unfair for all employees involved in the layoff or termination.
I don't believe it is a coincidence that the timing of the merger and the timing of the layoffs are around the same time. I am wondering if some more staff will be "re-badged" as Wipro employees. They are an international company with offices in the US. They may need the experience for quite a while.
With the Optum acquisition being scrutinized by the justice department, this company will need to sell off some business segments. If not, the deal will not be approved. Owners will do everything to make this deal happen. The smart and talented workers have been jumping ship and more will be downsized in the weeks and months ahead. It would be stooopid to think anything else.
