Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Advice for those who are considering leaving

Do not look back. I know many are hesitant because changing your job can be scary for so many reasons and suddenly your current job doesn't look as bad (for a full five minutes before the reality hits you once again). That's why you have to keep looking forward to new opportunities or you'll be stuck here forever. Just look forward and move on. You'll be much happier that way, even if it might not seem so right now.

One of my coworkers left in an epic way, actually got the idea from a person on our team who was tired of the stuff at State Farm who gave just hours notice.

This coworker had a manager that was a nightmare and pushed lots of the work they were supposed to do on my coworker, well a presentation was supposed to be given on I think it was Wednesday, so Tuesday she came in and in a meeting with the manager and the managers manager said she was offered and taking a job with Progressive, protocol dictated she be terminated immediately, so that is what happened. The presentation was never done the manager looked really bad as had nothing to give to senior managers and my coworker was actually going to Amazon.

I left and got sucked back in with the National General merger. I am desperately hoping for a buy out or something.

Not one person I personally know that has left regretted it for ONE SECOND! This place is toxic, run far and fast.

One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was leaving Allstate. Only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.
