Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Toxic environment

Everyone talks about toxic environment, but the only thing that really suits me at Citrix are the people I work with. I don’t feel that toxic environment. Incompetence of the managers yes, but the toxicity of the environment no. Moreover, the only reason I am still here are some of my great colleagues. That was not the case in the former company. So I'm wondering what makes the atmosphere toxic for those here who keep mentioning it?

Toxic environment is when people who are actually producing results are ignored, while others are rewarded for lesser outcomes.

No doubt, there are 25-30% promotions which are ‘well deserved’ in my org, rest are not easy to comprehend and every one is puzzled. Theory is the shinier your manager’s boot shines after one’s meeting, the better the chances of them being rewarded.

What kind of environment do you think this pattern leads to?

Toxicity is making unattainable quotas then increasing workload to justify buying Wrike. I agree I love my former coworkers but when you don't get paid properly and are treated poorly by manager

The toxicity is omnipresent. If you don’t see it, you may just be part of the toxicity.
Seen many echo chambers at Citrix. For those part of these buddy groups, they’d be unaware of the toxicity they propagate.

Toxicity no, a complete absence of information yes.
Until Thursday rolls around folks are just going to continue speculating.
