Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

How many total were affected?

I'm seeing different numbers being thrown around, is there any way to know exactly how many? Just how bad was it?

We are already having many of our top performers leave making for more work for everybody else (RCM, IQ). They company is hiring minimally so the work load on those that stay is increasing all the time. Hiring and the CAR process is more difficult than ever. There is no certainty for any of us and our team has been sliced down with even more leaving. So it’s sad with many goodbyes but good luck to those that stay.

No surprise but more layoffs coming over the next quarter throughout the org. The merger will hold back layoffs for a bit (a year or so) as Optum and UHC assess areas of overlap to find synergies. Shared services are at risk as are older, more experienced folks who may be not needed as Optum has their own leadership and management structure and staff. Like the Borg in Star Trek, resistance is futile.

Unless you’re an ostrich with your head in the sand or lacking in talent/strength a plan B and plan C is wise to have at this point in time as this company is going to be making a lot of changes (hence it’s name.)

Severance is minimum 4 weeks, maximum 26 weeks. Based on tenure.
