Do you predict that there will be CenturyLink layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Funny how many calls I'm receiving from presumably Lumen staff calling me if newco has any positions open or if I heard anything. We were told we are all essential to the new company and our contract will be honored. Quite a few people retiring first half of next year. Wont be many left to have a layoff!

I heard it would be a 2 month suspension. 60 days. But who wants to NOT receive a paycheck or NOT work for 2 months? Then be cut from payroll. Sure if it's a firing, then CWA will step in and lawsuits to follow, but due to COVID and slow courts; it will take more than a year. I know someone who was surplused and went out involuntary. It took CWA exactly 1 year to get him back on payroll. That was pre COVID times. 2 months no pay, 1 year to try and get the sh*thle job back. Sounds peachy!

Non Vaxxed layoff, well suspended, I don't think they can layoff till there is a time period, then the Newco transfers, they are asking for Volunteers also I saw. Then they will sit three months and offer VSPP after they back fill first in MANAGEMENT not craft. They need Craft to keep things moving before new management comes in and messes everything up so they can once again blame Craft. Then VSPP with a Company Email saying how great we are and that we value all of you.

I'm VAX'd, but it will be interesting once the Unvaxed are gone and Apollo takes it's share of employees to their new company. Package offerings would probably appear in early June to get those off payroll by end of third quarter. The one thing I'm curious about is if they will just extend the contract like they have been doing before 2023. Other than that it's business as usual.

5000 will be re-assigned to NewCo that should cut down any layoffs.

There won't be a VSPP next year. 10% - 15% of the current workforce will be forced out due to the vaccine mandate. Layoffs won't be necessary for another year or so.

With the Apollo transaction due to complete in 2022, there is bound to be massive lay-offs.... Remember what happened at CTL after 11/01/17?
