The pattern I have seen is that they occur monthly and if not monthly quarterly. The company is in a downward spiral for years. Eventually it will become a very small company. I saw it decrease from over 40k employees to a little over 20k employees in 2 years.

Layoffs have to continue as long as the revenue decline persists. It’s that simple. You are not safe.

Get a job at Ace Hardware or Menards or whatever. At least your out of that swamp. It’s a start. No one including myself likes change, but sometimes it’s necessary to do. Places are hiring all over. The skills you have learned on your own can be used for other things.
Just remember. No one wants to work right now. And the ones that’s do want a remote job hey can do from home making 75 grand a year. Good luck with that. There should be plenty of opportunities out there. You should be able to pick and choose. Don’t give up. But get the Heck out of xerox. For your own sake. Seriously.

Chicago area in deep du-du. Lots of people leaving and a general Bad attitude between management and techs. They are bleeding technicians.
Which is fine as they always say to us. “We could train a monkey to do your job”. I’m guessing they must know some pretty smart chimps. Time to go to the zoo. Maybe get a wax statue of your favorite animal while your there.

I don’t think the company has to orchestrate anything on their own. People are leaving anyways drastically due to many different reasons. Including myself!
