I see more and more people from Mexico and India on my calls and less and less US-based employees on them.
A year ago I was completely sure that there was absolutely no way that my department (sales) could be part of the GBS costs because again what can someone in India or Mexico know about the US market? Well apparently too much since they are taking more jobs there.
My corporate function has cascaded PDR objectives to shift at least 20% of our workload to contractors in India (not GBS). Management talked about how great the contractors were and at times were more qualified than we were. Mind you, we're L7-L11 but they seem to think that paying Indian contractors to do the work is better.
When the Mexico Team took over part of the payables team they all started as L6 while the US portion were L2 !!
I can tell you with confidence - someone in India doing the job of a “level 10 manager” gets paid about 1/5 - 2/5 of a us salary without benefits. And they are getting tax breaks in India by planting fake managers in India with real managers in US. It just doesn’t feel legal to me
Use your dollars to buy small local products. Do your part.
If you're not making, moving, or selling, your job can be done by anyone, anywhere. The jobs will come back to the US once it's a third-rate county and its desperate citizens are willing to work for peanuts. Maybe like 10-30 years.
Heard today that planning teams in Chicago are being axed and jobs going to GBS.
Funny, they p***ed all that money away on the OPO only to have it half empty by the time they mandate back to the office for all who are left.
G to DSD, sold off Trop, only thing left is to sell off Quaker. Started as a campus hire in 2010 and rumor always was that Chicago would be gone in ten years, they're right on target.
The vax mandates should take care of weeding out anyone who isn't already on the chopping block.

I'm curious to know how much they're getting paid. One of my managers told me that India is incredibly low.
