I can’t wait to see what it is going to be like when the holidays increase the precious foot traffic like they always naturally do. When you have 1 cashier and MAYBE 1 person on each side…maybe….it’s going to be a nightmare. The stores are in no way close to in shape for a holiday turn around. You can’t even get a seasonal room set because there’s no one to do it!!!! But we are fully staffed so it’s ooookkkkay!!!

There may be an increase if foot traffic, but don’t count on that to translate to an equal increase in sales. My store has 18% less inventory than last year and we don’t have the same assortment we had even last year. If sales pick up too much, this place will be empty.
My store is getting SLAMMED with freight…pretty normal stuff for this time of year…but there is NOBODY TO DO PUTAWAY!!! Customers are actually shopping off the cages! It’s just ridiculous. I have never seen it like this and I’ve been here a long time. Every possible poor decision that could be made is being made!! And not at a store level. It’s not rocket science! Bodies working means bodies buying. And these constant walks with the DM are stupid. If they want to see how it really is they should just show up at a store unannounced in the morning and see 1 person pulling Bopis and CDSs and 1 person trying to put away. And when the cashier gets here bam…that’s your staff! Yeah…lots of sales to be had there.
It’s ok. We don’t care about the in store customers anymore, just fill the online orders.
You nailed it. Our store is going through a renovations and has been forced to focus on HARMON first THEN Christmas stuff!! We cannot get it all out in time! Like the renovation stuff is arriving WEEKS late. So we will either have a VERY busy end of December…or a lot of Clearance markdowns in January/February because the products arrived too late :/
We don’t have the products! I know it’s still “dead” but when stores like Walmart, Kohl’s, Target have LONG lines and we are DEAD….isn’t that telling as to what to expect for Christmas?!? This company is a THIRD WHEEL!! We are considered as much as JC Penney is lately. People will come in despiration only to leave mostly empty handed!!
