Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Schedule now posted one day In advance

Yes, we have been instructed to post the following week schedule one or two days in advance, but this increases call outs at my store as some associates have to make child care arrangements, others have doctors appointments, all PTO goes unreviewed or is denied. This is happening at many stores.

People don’t plan to fail. They fail to plan! Belk is a toxic work environment. It is time to escape from Belk Alcatraz!

Get out as fast as you can. if they are posting the schedule one day in advance that can be a sign that the company is unsure if the business will be open week to week, sort of like they are taking things day by day. That is frightening for any associate as they can’t plan normal day to day things if they are off from work. I would not feel comfortable if a company is scheduling people on a last minute basis. Look for something better!

Gawd, remember when schedule posting in advance was part of "internal audit" reviews and scoring.
