If the company were smart they would not hand out great bonuses just because of high oil prices. After all when oil prices were low did they take your bonus away like they should have.

@1dvs+1dCqOpzW Tech companies pay many times more for people with experience. I have a friend with same years of experience after college in technology. He was offered 200K worth stocks at joining (4 year vesting) and equal amount of pay + free food and bunch of other perks here in Austin.

Good point but tech and real estate jobs don’t pay nearly what oil companies do. Also, you haven’t proven that you can effectively do oil and gas development just because you did wfh for 18 months. 18 months only represents 2 budget cycles at most which is nothing compared to the time frame for oil field development projects.
I’m already thinking of applying elsewhere. Oil and Gas wants to talk all this BS net zero talk and then they force their 15,000 employees to drive two hours to work burning fossil fuels. We proved we could work from home for 18 months and oxy still is making us come in to the office. More progressive companies in tech and real estate don’t measure their employees productivity by the amount of time their butts are in a seat. It’s based on the work they do that they are TRUSTED to do.
What are you doing on the internet at work? Checking your stocks, placing Amazon orders, probably anything but company business.
I agree, I drive 1-2 hours daily to do teams meeting, it is pointless. Also the internet at Greenway is slower than what I get at my home.

Just quit if you don’t like it. Oxy has made all the right decisions and most have been home working for 20 months. I know people that have been going into other offices since two weeks after Covid first hit us in 2020. We have been blessed and lucky to have the WFH as long as we have, and we still get two days a week. OP you are just a whiner, so do us all a favor and quit.
