Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Record everything with HR and management

Saw this on another company page here:

The comment about documenting and recording everything is so important. The statement about Canada/Alberta being a one consent state is correct about recording conversations, so always assume HR or whomever is recording you.

I know of someone who was laid off earlier this year, and he recorded conversations with HR and management, and then once let go and received severance, he sent the recordings to someone internal causing an internal s***storm, and there was nothing the company could do. Fellow competing midstream company. Party on and record on.

Nice anecdote backed up with nothing.....btw Alberta is a province and not a state.

"How dare employees look out for themselves and know that they can legally record conversations we have with them."

Canada and Alberta are one consent jurisdictions as it pertains to recording audio conversations. As long as YOU consent to it, it is perfectly legal. In person, or on the phone. Lot's of apps that can record phone conversations.

Assume everything you are talking about over CVE communication resources is monitored. Phone, e-mail, text.

HR. Waddaya say, eh? Jig up?
