Thread regarding 3M layoffs

blame game starts

Q3 results were mildly better than expected but books were cooked to keep shareholders happy and give new management a few more months to make changes to running the corporate advance model. The new signings from GE and other top brass who are well known will make a limited impact as over the last two years we have lost the cream of our top brass . Those valuable people who said NO now and again , not always yes people, problem is worldwide that other companies are paying well above the pay bands to take good employees away, yes we have changed our plan on raising the non production staff to <107% but we will be lucky to retain the production employees unless we start paying them more which should be done in fairness, but I know won't be as we can get away with it. Have seen some comments regarding the share price falling which will happen anyway as Biden seems to be clueless with inflation and minimal help for companies with climate concerns costing billions

Lean management at 3M !!

Dream on. One of the tell tale signs of a failed US enterprise is more and more incompetent people joining management ranks. E.g. GE, HP....and many others

I see more and more folks joining middle management usually after a failed attempt in the technical side of the company.

I guess why not.....that is where the quick promotions always seem to happen..just be a conformist and make sure you always say a big YES to whatever your manager says.

GE have been through the mill so maybe a good signing for St Paul, totally agree with more to be done for production employees, I have seen through Glassdoors that we fall short a long way of meeting their needs, this is where we have lost ground, the morale of a large percentage of the production employee has been dented and although we have had to cut out bonus or incentives . There really is too much belly fat of middle management that needs trimmed , lean management from executives needed
