Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

There's never a good time to be laid off

This company has many flaws but people are sometimes ridiculous in the things they claim it does on purpose. I saw a guy bi--h and moan on FB that Allstate intentionally laid him off on his daughter's birthday. Really? First of all, there is never a good day to be laid off. It's always right before or after somebody's birthday, a holiday, an anniversary, or whatever else. Second of all, to think a huge company would go out of its way to lay you off on a specific day to make it worse on you is some new level of egotistical. There are so many things wrong with Allstate, how about we focus on those instead of inventing 'cartoon villain' level evildoings on its part?

You seem to forget the massive layoffs the day after Thanksgiving last year. Happy holidays 2020 …baa humbug Scrooge!

The OP makes some good points. It is somewhat hilarious that the same people who claim Allstate can do nothing right and is incompetent has its management trained to look for relatives birthdays to determine exactly when a layoff is effective. If you believe that you must also believe Allstate is led by brilliant leaders.

You have never been in management. They do these things all the time, without any regard. Just proof that they have no idea the lives of their workers nor do they care about them. So many people are praying for a package. Trouble is, the workers won’t get one until mid 2022 if they’re lucky. Managers are getting the right and left. Good luck hanging on worker bees.
