Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

I'm so exhausted

I don't know what your situation is like but I have more and more work to do. At this point I'm doing abnormal amounts of work.

It is no longer clear to me whether this is happening to everyone, are we simply all becoming overwhelmed with work, or if it's just me and should I interpret this as creating pressure on me to quit as soon as possible?

Saying "no" to tasks and meetings only gets you put on, or higher up, the "September List". Said poster must be a manager trying to thin the herd out. How delusional.

You're definitely not alone. We're expected to do more and more but get nothing in return. Salary is insulting low and in some cases only $10 more than minimum wage. They want experience, loyalty, education but they don't want to pay and they keep dumping more and more on us. Instituting new programs that make their metrics easier to calculate but take us 3 times as long. BD is so backwards. Looking to get out!!

Expect that turnover will increase and those of us that remain will be asked to step into the gap(s), and 3 - 6 months later will have those interim responsibilities added to our workload, without promotion or a salary bump. Everyone is in the same boat. Practice saying no and use that time to find alternate positions and network. Say no to meetings, stick to a schedule, complete your tasks before helping others, and tell your boss you cannot do it all. The business won't change, but you can.

You're not alone here. I've been dealing with burnout for the last couple of months and same as you been stretched to thin that I have for the first time in my almost decade long career with BD (and Bard) started dropping the ball on several projects. I decide to create a plan to exit the company soon but aiming to stay long enough to collect this year's bonus if there is one.
