Thread regarding Belk layoffs

The Actual Cost of Employee Attrition

I still can't believe that it's more cost efficient for Belk if new employees stick around for only a few days and leave, and then new ones come who also stay for only a few days and leave as well. I'm not an expert in business strategy but to me that seems much more expensive than trying to keep experienced employees?

Belk looks like it is in it's final stages of life, especially after they filed chapter 11 in Feb. If they are trying to go for the "thrift store" atmosphere, they have succeeded. They want $9-$11 an hour employees to work with no benefits, but nobody is willing to work for that anymore. Not in 2021.
