Another new initiative. Any thoughts if it can retain good people?

Free new upscale coffee machines have been installed in the HQ, at least in the few buildings that I have access to.
In my building it is strategically placed in a place where all managers are located. It's kinda funny since many non management folks don't even go there since all meetings are now virtual.
Not sure what purpose it serves ...
Program is a non-event. Level of present attrition is positive.
Looks like corporate HR is forcing this down the throat to implement WYW.
Not just technical people that are leaving, MBAs like myself have gone to greener pastures. Roles are basically clogged with the lifers 30+ years with the company, job grades 15-17 that wont go anywhere. So there is no growth, very rare to be promoted. So I got my promotion at another company. And my roll was not back filled lol
Good people leaving en masse is overstated.
Please allow me to correct your statement above.
Good people, who joined after 2010, leaving en masse is not overstated....it is a sad fact.
Well qualified young folks who joined the company with high hopes to build a career here have already realized that staying in the technical ladder has limited, if not zero scope for career development. Hence the exodus.
Good people leaving en masse is overstated
looks like a futile effort to retain the good people who are leaving in masses
managers though need to be at work , there are several important meetings every day that need managers or supervisors there, Q4 is going to be interesting and supply chain problems are going to come to the point of exasperation.
I heard management even want to clock savings from the office space rental
honest to god, this company gets more embarrassing by the week, those in office jobs might as well work on the home toilet holding a laptop, get into your workplace and do the job right
1) It won't. The flow of people out is increasing if anything.
2) It's a plan where desk workers can in general work hybrid or at-home with only simple agreement from their supervisor. Supervisors are being told to only force people into the office if it is really essential to doing their jobs.
What is this initiative? What are the details?
