I received offer to join Data Science team at Bangalore office. (Offer is good) friend asked me to check review at this site now I am having second thoughts.

A basic stepping stone.
As others have said, people have heard of the company when reviewing resume.
This is a layoff site not a recruitment site, so think before asking
Work for our Bangalore office for several years in Data Science and IT and then you can land a job at Amazon or HPCL. Amazon will hire you to be a liaison to Exxon once you establish your Exxon connections.
It's a bad environment, but a job is a job. Maybe you need the money... I don't know your personal situation. Good luck and don't say you weren't warned.
Technology companies may be your best bet in terms of "actually" gaining data science experience. However, if XOM is your only option right now and you are willing to be miserable and "yes" men even for short period of time, then take the job and money with XOM and keep looking for better options in parallel. Jump the ship at your first opportunity since you will not have a good satisfactory and fulfilling career at XOM, regardless what the recruiting team and your to be peers and bosses say.
Unless you have a better off I would take it to get a few years of experience on your resume, and actively work next steps. It won’t be a long term gig. Be active with your learning and don’t just coast one the job.
