I know Walmart is suppose to be raising the wages up to 12 company wide but it seems like since the roll out of the first structure changes management has been really negative towards associates. No matter if it’s a light day or a heavy day the negativity has been really bad since all of the changes. I’ve never seen it this bad. What will it take for all of the drama and politics management has been causing to go away? Disrespecting associates , trying to make associates quit isn’t the way to solve the issues. You can say that management is stressed out but that’s not an excuse anymore. It’s halarious how Walmart talked about a “Great Work Place” for so long but once again another sugar coated lie. My thing is what is it going to take for the company to fix these issues and accountability isn’t the answer because that doesn’t exist in this company.

Most TL never wanted to run teams, that was DMs that did well managing their Dept. It was forced, it goes against their strengths. If they wanted to mng people they would of been assistance.
Oh, this thread is so sad. I mean, like why is this that hard? If you don’t like working at Walmart, then go somewhere else.
Let’s be real and honest now, ok?
maybe you can’t leave because you made poor choices in your life and you’re working at Walmart simply because you have no other options. And if that’s your situation, why not learn the necessary skills to move up in Walmart? If you’re trapped there, can’t you at least try to make the best of it?
But, if you have a reasonable skill set and some self motivation, just go. It’s as simple as that. Whining and moaning on this board isn’t going to drive any changes inside the company.
You have to decide if you have the strength to take on the challenges required to create and drive improvements.
@bvs Here's some ideas to get decent/quality associates.....
Treat your associates with dignity and respect. Provide all associates with benefits. Give associates set schedules so they can plan their lives around their jobs. Stop punishing associates if they don't have certain availability. Have the proper staffing levels so 1 associate isn't doing the jobs of 2-3 others and/or running 2-3 departments. Provide adequate training for new hires. Stop hiring despotic Store Managers. Have reasonable expectations based o the human factor and not some bull$h!t analytics. Focus on the successes instead of the failures.
12 is behind all other major retailers WM was number 1 decades ago.
“ Management is upset because those wage increases (so badly needed I might say) are cutting into their bonuses. /s”
Uh no… that doesn’t bother us at all in fact the raises are damn helpful as it gives us a slim chance in he-l in hiring people that aren’t d-mb as rocks. Want us to stop being pissy? Stop doing stupid sh-t, let us have more managers in the building and not hourly TLs that can’t make decisions to save their god damn lives, and let us hire till we are staffed to handle the customer flow based on the community not some algorithm that doesn’t work.
That would be a fantastic start.

The truth is that the virus has opened the eyes of many workers. They no longer want to work at dead end jobs for peanuts anymore doing the work of 2-3 people. And WM is a dead end job. It isn't worth being a summer job anymore either.
