New statutory holiday for Canada on Sept 30.. Xerox Canada not participating?

Anyone know if Xerox Canada plans to give employees the September 30 new statutory holiday as a day off (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation) or are they showing their real colors here and lack of interest in indigenous issues which they have barely paid lip service to in the past?

Would depend on province. Some have said they will and some said they won't. In the end it doesn't really matter. If Xerox has it as a stat holiday in participating provinces then you just lose a floater day from your yearly total so you won't get any extra days off. You would just be forced to take that specific day off instead of using a floater whenever you like.

According to the news:

As a federal statutory holiday, it is a designated paid holiday for federally regulated employees. That means people who work for the federal government or in workplaces such as banks, the post office or Via Rail are entitled to have the day off, or receive holiday pay if they do work.
