Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Pay is keeping me here

Yes, there are so many available jobs right now. What do they have in common? Cr-p pay. I've been checking out all available options and the best I could find was 20 percent below what I earn here. Maybe that's okay for some people but for me and my family, it's not. I'm not going anywhere until I can find something that pays at least as much as PepsiCo.

PepsiCo does pay very well. I think it's because other things are lacking compared to other companies (worked at gov contractor with amazing benefits and perks). I'm staying for the pay for sure. I apply to specific jobs of interest but they so far have not been that much more pay for me to jump.

You didn't start out at that pay... and you haven't distinguished yourself in the industry enough to deserve or demand that pay when starting out at another place.

If you're not very obviously among the top of your field (not just in your own mind) then yeah, starting over comes with a cost.

What is keeping me here for the moment is the possibility of a buyout. I know my job is going away, but no idea when. I keep applying to jobs, but they don't pay.
I am hoping I find something soon or they just announce when I am done. I worked every day of my vacation this week because I have 2 zones to cover. 400+ emails is ridiculous
