CareFirst NOT a Best Employer

So, this past week Forbes published their annual list of Best Employers for 2021 and CareFirst was NOT on any of the lists for Maryland, DC or Virginia. In light of how the company has been driving off a cliff the last 2-3 years, this is NOT a shocker by any stretch of the imagination.
Forbes is a well-respected business magazine and will not allow their research and findings to be swayed by all the BDP brain-washed followers who post their pathetic undying admiration for him all over social media.
The fact that CF is NOT on the list speaks volumes to how bad the company has recently gotten. On the Maryland list alone, there are over a dozen other companies within the healthcare industry; once upon a time CF used to be one of those companies. Associates will continue to leave in droves because of the various id--tic changes that the ELT implements without engaging with low-level Associates first to find out if the changes are REALLY worth putting in place. Sad state of affairs...

DK is an ID--T! All he brags about is how he outsourced the Service Desk at his last employer and saved them thousands. How did that turn out now di----t! Aside from terminating the entire support team and bringing in an outsourced company with zero knowledge of how CF functions and how to support in-house applications, millions are unnecessarily spent on hiring consultants just to fatten his ego. Now the folks that do the daily work are the ones suffering because support is pretty close to non-existent. Being brought in personally by Brian Pienick, it would look bad to fire his sorry a-s, so he's being eased out of the company to saved BP's face.

BDP voted a Top 10 CEO in Baltimore?!?! Pathetic! Just goes to show how out of touch these awards are with reality. Like the old saying goes... "There are no bad employees, only bad leaders."

Last comment was spot on about execs doing lousy job hiring directors throughout company over last year. Both the new ePMO director and VP were external hires in 2020 with no clue how CF operates. As proof, the KeyedIn replacement of Clarity this year was an utter debacle. But hey, forget about promoting existing CF associates into management positions. Bring in more unknowns from outside cause obviously they know what's best for the company. No wonder CF is a bad company to work for, little to no chances for advancement. Glad they spent so much time & money on diversity & inclusion... it's really paying off.

Recent Former employee -This is strange that I came back to disclose my thoughts in hope to shed light on incompetent management…. As a former CF employee I left because the director was a complete dip sh!t (Jeff) So, I will explain- I worked in the ePMO and was hired by the golden boy director that really can’t manage a gold fish swimming in a tank. So, several PM's was hired, 4 to be exact to which we all left because he was not a good manager but a better worker bee. The guy didn’t have a backbone and threw his folks under the bus if projects went red.
None of us wanted to leave but just bad management skills drove us away and trust me NO ONE wants to be in this department. He has no friends we all talked about him behind his back. It just shows that (VP) id--ts hire (DIR) id--ts to run a clown show.

This guy was bad … I seen him set his folks up for failure on a regular basis and praise folks who he thought liked him. It was a sad situation for I stay in contact with those who left and its
the same thought, good worker bee but bad manger. This is why people are leaving CF because no one want to kiss someone’s a$$ to maintain a job.
Great job who ever hire this id--t.

I was about to post this. Glad someone else saw it. They went from a Top 10 to not even top 70. It’s a shame

All Forbes had to do was visit this web site and see all the negative comments about CareFirst to know it's not a good employer.

Companies pay to participate in those "Best Company" polls and then their employees are forced to vote for their company. I know this because I worked for a company that was always on the "Best Company to work for list". Forbes, Baltimore Magazine, etc. all operate this way. CareFirst chose not to pay to play, it's that simple.

I suppose all the things he thinks make himself look good and how he preaches to everyone caught up with the company.
Again…Just because you can sell the pig in lipstick, doesn’t mean you exercise any ethical principles within the operations of the business.

Not sure how Forbes measures the companies to include them as best employers. But as a former associate who left CF on my own less than a year ago, I can unequivocally say that the company is not a good employer to work for anymore. Too many layoffs (especially IT) the last couple years and those left behind to carry the load weren't getting the needed support from leadership (especially DK). Then again, wasn't he the one who said if you don't like it here you should leave?
