I've only been here a few months. I have not encountered this amount of micromanagement in any company in which I have worked so far. I am under a lot of pressure and I have already started looking for a new job. Has micromanaging always been a common practice here?

The big wigs think you only need good management, the rest of the workers are dispensable. It's just plug and play, baby! Experience and knowledge do not matter. So, with that in mind....look for plenty of micromanagement
Hate to say it but if you are not being micromanaged especially in claims you ain't working at State Farm. I work in ET and feel for the people working in Claims.
They only micromanage those who truly require micromanaging.
He-l no. Only when these mo--ns took over.
You certainly are being micromanaged. Perhaps you don't hear about it as much as some, but should you step ever so slightly outside the arbitrary lines they have drawn, you will hear about it. They have created a sea of Team Managers who know nothing but to bark at red lights.
As a well preforming CS I’m not micromanaged. Doesn’t make up for the rest of the BS they do though.
Micromanagement started around 2015 when they implemented EOM (Excellent Operation Management). It hasn't always been like that, we used to be treated as professional adults prior to the sweatshop environment.
It’s top down management which is not sustainable for the long term management of Claims. They talk out of both sides of their mouths. If they want quality they need to give us the trained staff to accomplish the quality and quantity that claim’s needs. If you don’t, you will lose all that you think you’ve gained. Claims keeps all promises! Keep yours!
You must need a lot of assistance.
