Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PBNA R&D

I am on a relatively notorious team. I barely do any work and the management tell me I'm doing a good job. However, I still feel like my employment is endangered every day. The tasks we receive are ridiculous and outright ludicrous and nobody seems to really know what they're doing - even the management. We haven't produced any real results in years.

How likely are you to get fired for not doing work?

The newly hired have no clue what they’re doing and the tenured ones are to jaded just waiting to retire or let go they do minimal.

If you don't manage people who work in the field or call on a customer you're likely to be in a position that is on the chopping block. Don't downvote my message for sharing how Ramon sees roles.

Everything Ramon does is generate increase profit margin. He understands all jobs that are "Critical" work in the field. If he could do away with all HQ roles he would.

PBNA MEM has so many people making big money doing nothing it is laughable.
They are always working on the next great Innovation. When that turns out to be a load of cr-p they get a new boondoggle and sit mostly at home collecting their band 10 salaries, and laughing at the working stiffs.

This sounds a lot like Supply Chain at Frito used to be. I had a long career there of doing the bare minimum, and so did a lot of other people. Ah the good old days !

pbna is rampant with non-doers. sounds about right. nobody knows what they're doing and you'll probably be fine as long as you pretend to look busy
