Are people ignoring RTO and WFH anyways?

I have noticed there are not that many people in EMHC. I understand attrition has been high as of late, but the campus is practically empty. Is everyone just WFH and ignoring the RTO directive? Lol

I have “long” covid and have tested positive for many consecutive months. Because of pressure from my supervisor I still go into the office. Broad lack of empathy and understanding for my situation from management.

There is a FAQ link at the very bottom of the communication that was just sent about COVID from the HAF Task Force. There is a FAQ question on there about if you experience COVID 19 symptoms you should not come into the office. I do wish they left the signs up on the doors to give us a clear message (a daily reminder) that if we think we are sick we shouldn’t come in.

So, I need to get something off my chest. I went on vacation a few weeks ago and came home, felt bad Sunday night and got a COVID test. Positive. Monday, I felt better in the morning so I took a bunch of medicine and went to work. I didn't want to call in sick after a week on vacation and I've heard it is terrible with MOH tracking down everyone you've interacted with, etc. I ate lunch at the hub (alone) but a coworker joined me... I just feel stupid. I wish COVID was over. I wish we could work from home. I finished off the week at Campus, never got a followup test but I know I'm over it now.

Did you notice they got rid of the campus attendance report on the weekly COVID update? That's because no one is showing up. Only the id--ts go in and expose themselves now.

Yes. Majority of managers/spvs don’t care. Its really a subset of supervisors and managers (including mine) that are being jackbooted about it, and they aren’t all that self consistent. Some folks on the team can do whatever, and some of us are chiseled over any sort of flex time. The difference in enforcement amongst teams and individuals is noticed and its chafing on those of us who are being singled out so that there can be an illusion of control.

I mean look at the situation. 30% of EM is unvaccinated and EM won’t mandate the vaccine. 99% of my meetings are still on Zoom. What’s the point of getting dressed in uncomfortable clothing, driving in houston traffic, just to sit in the office on zoom again? There’s no incentive for us. It also seems that supervisors themselves also aren’t present, and I don’t blame them.
