Store Management Is Also Tired Of Corporate Changes

At our store the managers are sick of all the poor decision making and Constant changes Marvin and his minions Are making. They complain to each other behind closed doors. I recently heard the ASM’s complaining about the scheduling system and how there’s no coverage. How corporate has taken all the control from the stores to run their businesses so Marvin can consolidate power and line his pockets. Q3 and Q 4 won’t look so pretty for Wall St. Get ready for the bottom to drop out.

For YEARS before COVID we had 10 check out lanes in our store. The manager felt the best way to save money was to have no more than two open. Everyone in the store was trained to run register and were called in to ring whenever more than 3 people were in line. We called it a code 3. Before I left they changed it to a code 5 and cut cashier payrolls. They also cut staff throughout the store so no one was free enough to switch tasks and ring customers. Imagine you were fifth in line, in the way of other customers trying to get through to other areas of the store, your backed up to the paint desk, you can’t hear over the paint shakers, and you see 9 other unattended registers unopened; how would you feel? Thanks to Marvin, no one has time to care anymore. F……in..g mo ons.

"As a supervisor I get run to death because of this schedule system and no coverage."

That's why anyone who has worked in the store should know better than take a management position of any kind.

Practically everyone pays more money. Try staffing any of the more difficult to learn departments and what you end up with is a never ending revolving door of employees leaving. The staffing shortage is so severe that there is typically no one left to call in to cover any call outs. I was walking out of the store a few days ago and overheard a couple of customers commenting to one another how pathetic it was that they received better service from the cashier then they received elsewhere in the store. That will bode well for their survey results and ticket total.
