Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Hilarious!

I heard a rumor today that Express plans to add anywhere from 1500-1800 employees over the next year. That is almost a 40% increase in staffing. Holy sh-t! How can you f-up staffing like that. Complete joke! Can you imagine the quality of employee that you will have to deal with when you call Express or call you for help. A friend of mine's son just got a job in retail for $16 an hour and if they stay 90 days they get $2 more an hour! That is more than SF pays for a starting Express employee! Can you imagine the amount of claims dollars that are about to go out the door with those winners handling claim! Good luck Tipsy!!!!! There goes next years EIP!!!!

It’s a train wreck across all claims. I don’t value people by what they provide here at the farm. I do judge their work as it affects me.

Unfortunately these jobs are advertised as mindless data entry. I can’t speak on behalf of BI but from complex, to Total Loss needs redone.

You have people with 0 skills discussing complex pieces of property. Their idea of this job was copy and paste.

You can write estimates and quotes and make double of the average adjustor.

You can definitely learn on the job here with minimal learning, the problem is some people here are way under that bar.

It would be an excellent opportunity after taking away the benefits and calling it a turn and burn, to atleast maybe hire some trade schoolers as they advance through their courses. WFH and learn a trade would be a nice a gig.

These days, a company needs to hire 3 times what their final goal is because the low quality of candidates coming out if high school and college means 2/3rd of them won't survive the reality of todays workforce.

They aren't going to hire that many people. LMAO. Anyone working express for more than a year knows they won't hire adequate staff. It's a flat out lie. They have kept that department understaffed for year and people get burned out by the nonstop phones, mandatory OT and abuse from customers. SF will do what they always do: have externals work the tasks poorly and stick the state farm express employees on phones to be screamed at by customers for how behind we are. They will not be hiring anywhere near 1500 people. I've worked both express and complex and been with State Farm for 8 years. They keep both express and complex perpetually understaffed. It's never going to change. 🙄

This seems to be the reoccurring them. Burn out/frustrate current employees and rehire more. It will be interesting in the next 5-10 years (if SF survives) to see what happens when there are no longer any 'experienced' employees left and everyone is trying to figure things out as they go. I feel sorry for the customers that waiting on hold forever just to receive inadequate service.

Although I no longer work at SF, I still come here to see the train wreck while eating pop corn for entertainment purpose. Keep the shlt show rolling...

Companies do that for marketing purposes to make the public think they are growing and are successful. They are really not hiring for most of those positions.

They are going to struggle finding anyone word on the street. The trainwreck in claims is out of control in Atlanta.

You Fu-k it up with the Wrong Leadership in place. It’s like a train getting ready to derail, and I mean derail. We have associates in place that 10 years ago would have never been accepted.
