Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

"A good mix of quality gas and oil projects"

Reading one of these threads I saw that there are those who agree that the company has a good mix of quality gas and oil projects. Is it possible that someone actually thinks that? Really?
I never would have agreed with this, but I'd like to hear their arguments...

Shale doesn’t sound green at all. It sounds much dirtier and more unfriendly to humans then conventional oil. It actually makes offshore development sound acceptable. Time to downplay new developments in shale. Can it just be called something else to appease the public?

Shale is so last decade.

The stock price is purely based on the overall financial health of the company which at the present is junk bond status due to the high debt because of the acquisition. Stock price is not representative of the individual projects. Oxy has many international projects that are world class. The domestic shale projects are not in the same league as these projects. They really should abandon the shale stuff and get back more to their core business.

Very far from a good mix, and always has been. Look at the stock price that tells you all you need to know compared to peers.
