Those who have left and appear on this forum, mostly say that they are much better off with their competitors. I don't doubt there are companies where it's better than here, but... I don't believe it's ideal anywhere. I can't take double workloads at Allstate anymore, but I don't believe that I would have much less work in any of the competing companies.

To the commenter below me, I also went to progressive, except I am in inbound sales. Not having a handle time, or needing to feel rushed when speaking to customers is a breath of fresh air.
Plus how about that gainshare that they give their employees?? And my salary is also higher than the years I put in at Allstate…
I feel APPRECIATED here.
I work in property claims and moved to progressive about 8 months ago. It is amazing how much I let Allstate beat me down and I cannot explain how much happier I am. Instead of 4 claims per day we max at 2. I have a better salary and work/life balance and it allows me to have the time to properly take care of my customers. Benefits are similar other than PTO allotment. That’s about all Allstate has on this company.
I have been completely inundated since I left Allstate. The customers do not end with their requests from me. I often am working till 10:00 p.m. at night. I no longer have mangers that are full of ideas trying to assist me. I sure do miss those manager folks. I have been working on Saturdays also and occasionally answer a request on Sunday. I can barely keep up.
Things were much different for me at Allstate. I worked way less hours. I could only fulfill customer requests 15% of the time. Today my fulfillment rate is about 80%. It is difficult trying to keep up but I am managing. If you wondering what I do…I am an agent. 40% of my customers come from Allstate insurance. I am NOT soliciting my old Allstate customers, however when I do come across an Allstate customer that wants to discuss their insurance needs my close ratio is about 92%. I am very fortunate to be working in a state where Allstate has about a 10% penetration rate. I must work hard because the Allstate penetration rate seems to be slipping on a daily basis. My competitors and I seem to be eating lunch at the expense Allstate and this party will eventually end. However, a new batch of customers seem to be appearing in the market. They are Nat Gen customers. However, they are harder to get at because it seems like the independent agent channel are doing a good job at converting their Nat Gen customers to their other independent carriers.
Yes. My new role has no average handle time, it’s all about the customer… no commission, it’s a steady wage that was several dollars more than what I made after years at Allstate.
The culture is also very refreshing.
I promise you it is worth it to look to see. There is much better than Allstate out there
