GM JV engineers make a third of what GMNA engineers make. That covers a lot of headaches.

Working with them was terrible. There were times they had to surrender cell phones and be escorted on various GM properties. Was always interesting to watch the turnover rate for people leaving at global PMTs. They are NOT to be trusted.
yes cut the second largest economy on earth genius idea
Is using the same suppliers considered ripping you off?
The little bit of profit we get from China is not worth the headaches. Not to mention that the CCP has made it clear that they want Chinese OEMs to dominate EV sales in the country. We’re going to get pushed out one way or the other so maybe we should not have our technology stolen in the process? I hate working with their teams. Not cooperative and the 10pm meetings are a nightmare. We should have stayed in Europe and cut China. It would have been a more difficult road but at least European countries weren’t looking to rip us off.
They won’t but the relationship with SAIC is the most dysfunctional relationship I have ever seen. Nothing gets done, countless meetings at 10pm and at the end saic ends up screwing up and we have to fix their mistakes.
