Since an independent bookshop opened not too far from us, we've lost at least a third of our business, if not more. Every time I pass by them, there seem to be at least a couple of people there. I thought they were crazy for opening, but I guess I was wrong. I underestimated people's resolve to support small businesses and anything local during- and post-pandemic. This will be our death knell.
