it depends on where you are based as local employment laws vary.
In the UK you get some rights after 2 years service and Cisco are concerned about being sued for unfair dismissal and / or discrimination. If you can prove discrimination then the damages are much greater (unlimited) than just unfair dismissal (£50K).
So in the UK expect more than the minimum, in exchange for waiving your rights to sue.
However, I am bit out of date and not a lawyer - things may have changed.
5 months salary at a minimum for all impacted
People under 40, male and white are laid off with one or two years of service. They're very young and they're part of the LR to offset the "old folks" and bring the average age down. You know, sacrificial lambs.
To the OP, if you've been around for 2 yrs, you were there for the quiet LR in Feb '20, and the early retirement offer & voluntary separation package for "at-risk" employees in the late summer of '20, followed by the involuntary termination of the "at-risk" id--ts who didn't take the voluntary package in Dec '20. The amounts of the separation packages were discussed ad nauseam during multiple check-ins, so you should know how much. Stop trolling and ask questions worthy of answering.
Answer : Yes. (Purpose of severance is it inhibits you from suing Cisco. That is what you sign to get it. Technically company owes you nothing for firing you by law)
No LR for you mate until you reach year 3 or more of service. Well, unless you are over 40 AND male AND white.
In the past the package has been 30 days notice and a payout of 1 week per year of employment.
