People talk about the building 273 bar shop all the time in these posts. What's happening with the other activities in building 273? What's going on with steam turbine manufacturing and repairs? What's going on with generator manufacturing?

The only thing keeping Schenectady going is the bar shop, and specifically the autoclave that is used to cure the bars. Once that goes away, Schenectady is done. All the other work being done there can be done elsewhere.
Not much of anything. The elected officials that have been lying to people for years, that union workers have helped put and keep into office, have worked hard for years to destroy the jobs that once filled Schenectady 273. They continue to push BS “green” energy that in reality is nothing more than a shell money game, to many of their own pockets. Solar and wind turbines may make some money for GE, short term jobs, but are not the answer for the future. Generators and Turbines are being built all over the world now. Our country isnt investing in true energy production anymore, so there is very little traditional work for Schenectady 273. Its time for ideas outside the box if any sustainable amount of jobs are gonna be maintained and continued. So yes the talk is true, there is hardly any work in 273. And the barshop, well that once revered production line has been squandered to produce scrap, with the help of slugs from 301 and book smart college kids that both have zero clue!
